The Mission of the Boy Scouts of America


"To prepare young people to make ethical choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law."

Notice that it does not say that the young people will make the "right" choices, or that the Scouting program will provide them with the answers. Instead, we strive to lay the foundation to make them aware of their world and their place in it - and to equip them with the right mental and physical tools to make ethical choices throughout their life.
